In those golden days when flower power, peace activism and the anti-nuclear movement were spreading everywhere, a new, wild youth culture made its presence known - Heavy Metal arose in the seventies and the Rhineland ranks among the strongholds of the German metal scene ever since. Urban or rural areas have been generating a motley mixture of metal subgenres to this day – a mixture so versatile that it holds its own in the German metal landscape. This breeding ground created world-famous bands like Accept or Blind Guardian as well as celebrated metal queen Doro.

 

Rhein Metal tells the exciting tale of this particular scene, its evolution and status quo, and finally gives a voice to those ringleaders and creators who haven't been payed enough regards to date. And thus Rhein Metal gives a say not only to outstanding musicians and bands, but to promoters, producers, graphic concept artists, fans and observers and many more likewise – the very leather-clad archetypes who cultivated the Rhineland's unique metal landscape and who are keeping it alive and true till this day!
